An oval Amber gemstone with an insect inclusion in a claw set sterling silver pendant and complete with an 18" chain.

Amber occurs in a range of hues from a pale yellowy white, to the most common golden or cogniac colour to a red, black or rarely blue colour.
Insects and fragments of vegetation were often trapped in the sticky resin from which Amber is formed , thus remaining  entrapped and fossilised as the resin hardened.
