This unique ring , contains a deep purple Amethyst cabochon, encased in silver , with a silver wave on the sides. 

Amethyst is a silicate mineral, formed from silica rich solutions with traces of iron . These solutions often enter cavities and form beautiful crystals .In the right conditions the iron in the crystals is irradiated , so producing the rich purple colour of the stone. The crystals are often found in strange shaped rock nodules called geodes. 

Amethyst was hightly prized in Medieval times as a regal stone.
